BRGY & SK ELECTIONS 2010: Makati PPCRV Volunteers Clean Up CVL; 247 Flying Voters Removed

PPCRV volunteers in Barangay San Lorenzo in Makati City goes after 247 flying voters whom they found out to be non-residents of San Lorenzo and Legaspi Villages.  Marilyn Po, PPCRV volunteer said that during their voters’ list cleansing project, they discovered that these 247 applicants for registration gave fake addresses when the PPCRV volunteers did a house to house check, especially the condominiums in the area. The flying voters also forged their residence certificates.

The PPCRV Immediately filed a petition with Comelec’s Election Registration Board which evaluates all applications and determines those qualified to vote, as well as questioning those who are suspected to be flying voters.

Presented by PPCRV Barangay San Lorenzo were some administrators of  condominiums used by the bogus registrants  as their addresses.  These condominium administrators testified that the certifications presented by the illegal registrants were all fake and that their signatures were forged.

Dr. Arwin Serrano, PPCRV Makati Coordinator who exposed the Comelec overpriced secrecy folder during the 10 May 2010 elections said, “This is definitely good because people need to be vigilant against anomalies.”   Proud of what his PPCRV Makati volunteers accomplished in banning 247 flying voters in the coming Barangay elections, Dr. Serrano added, “It has started in a small community like San Lorenzo. I hope this will be replicated in other areas, too.”
